    This is the "Traditional liposuction" where fat cells are sucked out of the body by a cannula connected to a suction device. Liposuction's main purpose, a method of removing fats via suction, the main purpose is to reshape parts of the body and not for weight loss. Typically liposuction aims to tackle "stubborn fats", referring to fats that are not responding to diets and workout.

    VASER liposuction involves melting fats with ultrasound technology and removing fat via suction. It is a technique that was developed to selectively, effectively and safely remove unwanted body fats, while causing little to no disturbance to important structures such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. The precision of the VASER probes also means that it can even be used to treat very close to the skin for skin retraction. This allows loose skin to tighten up after using vaser technology. This technology is especially useful for revision liposuction cases.

Our Plastic Surgeon - Dr Leo Kah Woon

Dr Leo Kah Woon is an accredited plastic surgeon with extensive experience in traditional and advanced liposuction techniques. He is accredited by the Ministry of Health of Singapore and embarked his Basic Surgical Training in General Surgery at Singapore General Hospital.

In 2004, Dr Leo was awarded his Membership from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as well as Master of Medicine in Surgery. Then, he finished his Advanced Surgical Training and was soon awarded the Gold Medal in Plastic Surgery for being the top candidate in his cohort.

In 2014, he started his own practice at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. Despite leaving the public healthcare sector, Dr Leo still maintains a visiting consultant appointment with the Singapore General Hospital and has continued to be active in medical humanitarian mission work operating under-privileged young children with cleft lip and palate deformities as well as patients with severe burn deformities in Yunnan, China and Vietnam.
